![]() So this is the possible pSX bug as the intro does work fine on real hardware regardless of what type controller is plugged in. (You can then switch back to dual shock if you want) The controls now work and you can start the game. The fix is: go into pSX config and switch the pad type from "dual shock" to "normal pad". Normally you just hit start to continue but in pSX once the intro loads all controls seem to die, thus you cannot leave the intro and start the game! Once done the game boots into the "intro" that comes with the fix. I then applied a "protection fix" ppf patch. I am using pSX v1.12 Linux and the recommended psx bios (SCPH-1001)įirst I tried simply ripping a standard bin/cue - didn't work as expected. (Just as it does on the real psx hardware) The effect of the protection is to cause the game to hang at the "This game contains scenes of explicit violence and gore" screen. The original CD works fine in pSX, but if like me you prefer to rip all your games to hdd rather than messing about changing discs then read on. This game is Libcrypt protected so you can't just rip it and play the iso as with ordinary games. Here is a method I have found to play an image of Resident Evil 3 UK PAL (SLES-02529) with pSX.
